Salem State University complies with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crimes Statistics Act.  This Act, part of the Higher Education Act of 1965, is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose certain timely and annual information about campus crime and security policies.  Institutions must publish a report every year by October 1^st that contains three years of campus crime statistics and certain security policy statements.  Each school must disclose crime statistics for the campus, public areas immediately adjacent to or running through the campus, and non-campus facilities.

While the full report is available for review online, the university will provide a paper copy of the report upon request or make the report available for review at the University Police Department located at 71 Loring Avenue Salem, MA 01970.  The report is also available for review at the Office of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity.
