Salem State University seeks applications from candidates who hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, or related health discipline, or ABDs in the same fields with significant progress on the dissertation and strong teaching potential. Preferred areas of interest include weight management, obesity and/or pathology in exercise science.

Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with the MSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, scholarship and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The position is subject to available funding.
Required Qualifications: PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, or related health discipline, or ABDs in the same fields with significant progress on the dissertation. Demonstrated competency in exercise testing and prescription.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience and demonstration of teaching effectiveness at the college or university level; experience in and a commitment to teaching in a multicultural, multiracial environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles; and experience with instructional technology and active learning techniques.
